I might need 1 more surger and 1 more sewing machine but i think we don't need as many as we had last time.

I do think more fabric in leaf colors would be good!  I think greens, red, gold, and oranges would be good!

And other stuff that we can can into stuffing also good!

It occured to me that soem of the leafy goodness could be created with a "block print" -other wse known as a stamp - on the leafy shapes before sewing....just need to make the stamp. Or multiple stamps for different size leaves. -mi

I did that for my Green Man costume for the first Haunted Trails back in '96 -- lots of fabric, stamped with green paint. Worked great, and it even washed OK in the machine. They make these awesome vine and leaf stamps (or at least they did ten years ago...) -Tall Matt

Sounds cool! And free-hand with paint pens might be just as fast if people are more comfortable with that. I don't see a problem with combining the two techniques, eh? I wonder if it might be worth a roadtrip sometime to Houston. I seem to remember that there's a HUGE fabric warehouse there somewhere, though darn if I can remember the name. And the person I used to know who worked there hasn't been in touch in about 15 years. The place might not even be there anymore. Any Houstonites familiar with what I'm talking about? If not, I do have one LJ contact in Houston who just might know. And I'll look into getting my sewing machine maintenanced next week while I'm on vacation. I just need to get it to a Singer place. (It hasn't been looked at in about 20 years.  :S  )  --  bel

I now have some, and will have more by then, Shiva paint-sticks  ( Shiva Iridescent Paint Sticks ), which are wonderful and shiny (Jerry's has the set on sale for cheap). -- Edwin!

SUNDAY MARCH 2ND!!  Sewing!  My place?  2:00 PM?

I picked up a few pillow forms and some weird, fluffy remnants this past weekend. I'll try to get them put together beforehand, but if I don't, I'll just pack the materials, some needles, and thread. Handsewing is SO restful.  :>  -- bel
